Radio-controlled cars, or RC cars as they are generally referred to, are a good pastime both for kids and adults. Their action is based on a remote control system. Another type of remote control trucks is wire connection ones, but radio controlled trucks have greater popularity. Radio-controlled cars are commonly divided into 2 groups: toy model cars designated for children and hobby-grade version that is designated for teenagers and adults. These two versions of radio controlled trucks are different, but nevertheless have something in common. Both of them constitute replicas of real life cars and are controlled through radio control. But there're a number of distinctive features of these 2 versions. First of all, a toy model is a solid plastic representation of the vehicle while the hobby-grade model is very close to a real car in relation to looks and individual parts. The hobby-grade models are designed in the same manner like a real car. Furthermore, this model requires the same service and maintenance as if you were the owner of a real-life vehicle. There are different ways of powering hobby-grade RC cars. They may be electric, petrol or nitro powered. Taking a decision which one to choose is not that easy. All the models have their own pros and cons that should be carefully thought over. For instance, an electrically powered radio-controlled car will be lighter that a petrol run one, but the last will be faster than the first one. Anyhow, these cars are so intricate, that every enthusiast can change his electric powered car into a fuel run one, or vice versa, with no particular efforts. What is so special about hobby-grade radio controlled cars that draws attention of numerous men of all ages to them? In general, it is their intricacy. It's not a toy, it's actually a real life truck, but very small. Besides, these radio controlled trucks can be applied for racing and what man would refuse to be a racer? It's much funnier than computer games, that is the reason why RC trucks are so attractive to big boys. Evidently, RC cars are a lot of fun. But still remember that it will demand a lot of maintenance, repair and upgrading. So this hobby is not cheap, but it's a truly unforgettable experience. |
