Even though they show results quicker, antibiotics are usually not favored by patients, as they cause side effects, such as upset stomach, discoloration of the skin, lightheadedness and photosensitivity. If you are suffering from severe forms of cystic acne, your general practitioner may prescribe isotretinoin (Accutane) or may send you to a specialist. Since serious side effects are possible, men and women taking Accutane should be cautiously monitored by their doctors. If other acne treatments appear ineffective, laser or light therapy may be used. Take the opportunity to have a clean radiant skin! |
